Junior Production Assistant / Wheelchair Frame Builder

Reporting to: Production Manager

Salary: $50K annually approx. (neg)

Purpose of the position

 

We are growing our team at Rove Wheelchairs and are currently on the hunt for someone to help us build game-changing 3D-printed titanium wheelchairs!

This is an entry level position, perfect for a junior person with ambitions to level up and learn advanced manufacturing.

We are looking for a production assistant - someone who is practical and good with their hands.  

​You would be working closely with our production manager to help increase our production output as we scale.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

 

The primary responsibility of this role includes building and assembling wheelchairs. You will be working with hand and power tools such as linishers, polishers, die grinders, drills, saws and other equipment such as a CNC Router and a titanium 3D printer. You do not need prior experience with all of these tools, as training will be provided.

You’ll be cutting and preparing carbon and titanium tubes, blasting and polishing 3D printed titanium parts, bonding frames and assembling ultra-light wheelchairs.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, pay close attention to detail, show initiative and always be keen to learn and level up.

Essential qualifications

  • No essential academic qualifications.  The applicant will be chosen based on their attitude, problem solving abilities, desire to learn and potential to grow with the business.

Work experience and skills

Desirable Experience

  • Interest in additive manufacturing.

  • Previous experience with hand and power tools.

  • Previous experience in a workshop environment.

  • First hand experience with wheelchairs.
